All-Pro LB Bobby Wagner Agrees to One-Year Deal With Seahawks, per Report
Bobby Wagner is headed back to Seattle.
The veteran NFL linebacker is reportedly signing a one-year deal to return to the Seahawks, according to a report from Seattle cornerback Quandre Diggs.
ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed the news break from the defensive back, indicating that it's a one-year, $7 million deal for Wagner as he heads back to Seattle following his year-long stint with the Rams.
The 32-year-old had signed a five-year, $50 million deal with Los Angeles last offseason but was let go after just one year in a cap-cutting move by the organization ahead of free agency.
Now, he's set to come back to the city where he made eight Pro Bowls, was named an All-Pro First Teamer six times and won his lone Super Bowl ring in 2013.
Wagner spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Seahawks before latching on with the Rams in 2022 following his release from Seattle. He played in all 17 games in Los Angeles, recording a career-high 6.0 sacks and earned Second Team All-Pro honors.
Despite a productive season, the veteran linebacker hit free agency for the second time in as many years after the Rams opted to part ways with him.
Across 11 seasons in the NFL, Wagner has featured in 168 games, recording 1,523 tackles, 29.5 sacks, 88 QB hits, six forced fumbles and 13 interceptions, and he's set to make a coveted return to the franchise with which most of those numbers were racked up.
