After the Cowboys released running back Ezekiel Elliott earlier this month, the 27-year-old reportedly narrowed down his list options to just three teams: the Bengals, Eagles and the Jets

As of this week, it appears Elliott has one less option in free agency.

During the annual league meetings on Monday, Jets coach Robert Saleh was asked how interested the team is in the veteran tailback.

“We love our running back room,” he told reporters. “I’ll leave it at that.”

It wasn’t a definitive answer yes or no, but it appears to be a clear message that Saleh isn’t looking to change things up in the backfield.

Jets rookie running back Breece Hall was having an incredible first year until he tore his ACL and meniscus in Week 7, ending his campaign. He finished 2022 with 463 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry in his limited time on the field.

With him coming back healthy, and a plethora of depth at the position, it doesn’t look like Elliott landing in New York is a likely scenario.
