After Jets GM Joe Douglas was asked about a potential Aaron Rodgers trade, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst broached the subject later on Monday during a media address at the NFL owners meeting.

Via Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Gutekunst indicated that Green Bay is in no rush to push a Rodgers trade through and don't have a timeline in place for a deal to get done, but indicated he's hopeful something can be completed "soon."

Additionally, the Packers GM told reporters that getting a first-round pick in return for Rodgers isn't “necessary," though the organization is still seeking "fair value" for the four-time MVP, via Ryan Wood of USATODAY.

The Packers were previously reported to be seeking more than a first-round pick in exchange for Rodgers, but Gutekunst's latest comments indicate that they're willing to negotiate so long as they're receiving what they consider to be fair value.

As for Rodgers' future in Green Bay, Gutekunst indicated that while "all options are on the table," it's seemingly unlikely that the 39-year-old returns to the Packers.

The GM told reporters that the organization attempted many times to contact Rodgers about returning in 2023, but were only able to get in touch with his reps, who eventually informed the team that the quarterback wanted to join the Jets

The two sides will continue negotiating over the potential blockbuster trade, though both Douglas and Gutekunst have indicated that it may be some time before anything comes to fruition.
