Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson revealed Monday on Twitter that he requested a trade due to the team not being “interested in meeting” his value.

Coincidentally, the quarterback’s post went up right as Baltimore coach John Harbaugh was set to speak with media at this week’s NFL owners meetings in Phoenix. He immediately was asked about Jackson’s situation, as expected, and it sounds as if the team intends to do everything possible keep its star quarterback.

“I’m getting ready for Lamar,” Harbaugh said, via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. “When Lamar gets back on this train, it’s moving full speed.”

Harbaugh added that “we love him.” And, when Harbaugh was asked if he expects Jackson to be his quarterback this upcoming season, the coach said “I do,” via Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.

“Ongoing process,” Harbaugh added. “I’m following it very closely, just like everyone else.”

The Ravens applied the non-exclusive franchise tag to Jackson earlier this month, but he hasn’t yet signed the tender. Other teams are allowed to negotiate with Jackson, but Baltimore has the right to match any offer he receives. The Ravens have indicated a desire to sign Jackson to a long-term contract.
