As uncertainty continues to swirl around the future of Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, backup quarterback Tyler Huntley plans to sign his restricted contract tender on Monday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Huntley has been active at the team facility and will be throwing in Tampa this weekend with some of his teammates, Pelissero noted.

The Ravens now have at least one proven quarterback in the room heading into next season. Huntley has started eight games, and has played in 13 total over the past two seasons when Jackson has missed time with injury, throwing for 1,739 yards and five touchdowns to seven interceptions while completing over 65% of his passes.

Huntley has proven that he’s good enough to be a reliable backup and spot starter for the Ravens, but can he take on a larger role if needed? That will be the question for Baltimore’s front office as the questions surrounding Jackson’s future continue.

Jackson has not signed his non-exclusive franchise tag that would pay him over $32 million next season as he continues to search for a long-term deal with the Ravens.
