After months of speculation and negotiations, a deal that sends Aaron Rodgers to the Jets appears to finally be done.

The Packers are trading Rodgers to New York for a first-round pick swap, a second-round pick, a sixth-round pick and a conditional 2024 second-round pick, according to a Monday afternoon report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The 2024 second-round pick will reportedly become a first-round pick if Rodgers plays 65% of his new team's offensive plays in 2023.

The four-time MVP now joins a team with a top-five defense and is loaded with skill position players, instantly making them a force in the AFC East. Last year, the Jets were fifth in yards allowed (5,288) and fourth in points allowed (316). The young offense features the offensive rookie of the year wide receiver Garrett Wilson and up-and-coming running back Breece Hall, whose electric rookie year was cut short due to an ACL injury.

New York also signed former Packers wideout and one of Rodgers’s favorite weapons, Allen Lazard, to a four-year deal this offseason. Not to mention, his new offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett, was his former OC in Green Bay from 2019 to ’21. All the pieces are in place for Rodgers to seamlessly slip right in and look to win a title for New York for the first time since Super Bowl III in 1969.
