While Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is known for being a Heisman Trophy winner and a top prospect at this year’s draft, he’s gotten some flak about his height.

At 5-foot-10, Young is on the shorter side when it comes to being a quarterback. He’s the same height as Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who often receives comments about being short on the field.

A day before the 2023 NFL draft, Young was asked what he told teams who might be worried about his height.

“I’m myself, I know who I am, I’m confident in my abilities,” Young said, via The Charlotte Observer’s Scott Fowler. “For me, I don’t know how to play the game another way. I’ve been this size relative to the people around me for my entire life. ... I can’t grow. I can’t get any taller.

Young gave a similar answer ahead of the NFL combine in March, saying that he thought it was “fair” that “everyone can speculate and ask whatever questions are necessary,” but that he remained confident in himself.

There’s a good chance Young will be drafted by the Panthers with the No. 1 pick. Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer had this happening in his latest mock draft.
