Steelers Have Received Offers for First Friday NFL Draft Pick, per Report
Intrigue is building as we lead up to the start of Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft. According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Steelers, who currently own the No. 32 pick, are fielding calls from other teams who covet the first pick of the second round.
The Steelers, who obtained the pick last year from the Bears in exchange for wideout Chase Claypool, hold a strongly-desired selection as teams have players with first-round grades who remain on their big board heading into Round 2.
Pittsburgh traded away their fourth-round pick (No. 120) on Thursday night in order to acquire pick No. 14 from the Patriots. The team then proceeded to select Georgia standout offensive tackle Broderick Jones.
Following last night’s trade, the Steelers only have five picks remaining in this year’s draft: picks No. 32, No. 49, No. 80, No. 241 and No. 251. Faced with not owning any picks in rounds four through six, the club could very well be interested in trading back from No. 32 in an attempt to add more draft capital.
