Patriots to Honor Tom Brady at Team’s 2023 Home Opener
The GOAT is returning to Foxborough.
The Patriots announced that longtime franchise quarterback Tom Brady will return to New England for the team’s 2023 season opener, an event dubbed the “Thank You Tom Game” by the franchise.
“The greatest player in the history of the game played right here in Foxborough, and I’m happy to tell you … I invited him back to come here and be with us at the opening game,” team owner Robert Kraft told Good Morning Football on Thursday morning.
New England’s home opener has not yet been announced, as the NFL prepares for its full schedule release on Thursday night.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion retired earlier this offseason after 23 professional seasons, with 20 of those coming in New England as the centerpiece for six championships.

Following Brady’s contentious departure from New England, in which the team would not meet his contractual demands, the quarterback played his final three seasons with the Buccaneers, with whom he won an unprecedented seventh Super Bowl at the conclusion of the 2020 season.
However, following his retirement, Brady and Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s relationship appeared better than ever when the quarterback’s longtime coach joined the Let’s Go! podcast as an ode to Brady and a salute to his retirement.
Now, Brady will return to New England to be honored by the team for a career that is unmatched by any other quarterback in league history.
