Take this with a grain of salt, but former NFL star Antonio Brown claims he will suit up for the Albany Empire arena football team on Saturday.

For those unfamiliar, the Empire is the National Arena League team that Brown sorta owns, but also possibly doesn’t.

Brown reportedly ran one route during practice on Thursday and then told reporters he plans to playing in Saturday’s game against Fayetteville, according to Griffin Haas of WTEN. The report comes on the heels of Brown’s agent claiming that the wide receiver is receiving “genuine interest” from NFL teams.

Could this be why Brown is suiting up?

It’s difficult to separate fact from fiction when it comes to Brown, but the 34-year-old wide receiver surely could help the Empire on the field if he does suit up.

Brown also claimed that former NFL MVP Cam Newton would join him in Albany soon, but reporters believe the former All-Pro wide receiver was joking.

Brown certainly is bringing attention to the Empire, which is something that was likely in the calculus when ownership decided to bring him aboard in March.
