Three-time Super Bowl champion Willie McGinest is being sued for the second time in a span of three months, according to a TMZ report.

The suit filed by Andrew Cortez alleges the former Patriots linebacker punched him in the face at a gym in Long Beach, Calif., in June 2021 following a dispute over the use of weights.

According to TMZ, “three other men then jumped in, along with McGinest, and proceeded to strike [Cortez] in the head and back 30 to 40 times.”

The suit claims Cortez is suffering from emotional distress since the attack while still attempting to recover from the injuries he sustained in the attack.

Back in March, McGinest’s tenure as an NFL Network analyst came to an end amid a previous lawsuit stemming from a December arrest in Los Angeles.

Following the December arrest, the two-time Pro Bowl defender issued a statement proclaiming: “This incident has prompted me to deep self-reflection—mind, soul, and spirit. I know that violence is never the answer to such situations, no matter how intense the provocation. Rest assured, I will take whatever steps necessary to restore the public trust, mend damaged relationships, and ensure this never happens again.”
