Broncos’ Javonte Williams Offers Update on ACL Injury Recovery
It’s been less than a year since Javonte Williams tore his ACL, but he says he’s going to be ready to go at the start of the 2023 season.
“I mean, that’s the plan. I feel like I’m ready to go,” Williams told ESPN on Sunday when asked if he would be medically cleared for training camp.
Williams tore both his ACL and LCL in his right knee during a Week 4 matchup with the Raiders on Oct. 2. He tallied 204 yards on 47 rush attempts to start the year until the injury. The 23-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft and rushed for 903 yards as a rookie.
He’ll look to pick up where he left off under new coach Sean Payton, but he’s keen on not rushing out there if he’s not ready.
“I don’t want to get back on the field playing scared or timid, so when I do get back out there, I want to be 100%,” Williams said.
