Panthers, Bryce Young Agree to Four-Year Contract, per Report
The Panthers and 2023 No. 1 pick Bryce Young have agreed to a four-year rookie contract worth $37.9 million fully guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. As with all contracts for first-round picks, Young’s deal includes a fifth-year option that Carolina must decide whether to exercise in 2026.
In April, Carolina drafted Young out of Alabama after the team traded up for the top selection back in May. The quarterback spent three years with the Crimson Tide, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2021 with 4,872 passing yards, 47 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. Despite dealing with injuries last year, Young still produced 3,328 passing yards and 32 touchdowns in his junior season.
With Young’s deal signed, he is now able to report to Panthers training camp, which begins on Saturday. The quarterback will look to earn the starting job, battling veteran quarterback Andy Dalton for the right to lead the team behind center.
According to Spotrac, five first-round picks now remain unsigned, including two notable quarterbacks: No. 2 pick CJ Stroud and No. 4 pick Anthony Richardson.
