Josh Jacobs Seen Leaving Las Vegas One Day Before Raiders Training Camp, per Report
Raiders running back Josh Jacobs was seen leaving Las Vegas on a flight on Monday morning, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. The news comes following a contract standoff between the two sides, which ended with the running back and team unable to agree on an extension ahead of the deadline.
This move doesn’t come as too much of a surprise since Jacobs made it clear that he was prepared to sit out training camp this year if a deal wasn’t agreed upon. Since he was given the franchise tag and didn’t sign his $10.091 million tender, he cannot be fined for missing training camp.
Jacobs reportedly doesn’t plan on attending training camp any time soon either, sources told Pelissero. Training camp begins on Tuesday, meaning Jacobs could be gone for the foreseeable future.
Since the two sides couldn’t agree on a contract ahead of the deadline, Jacobs is only eligible for a one-year contract in the upcoming season.
Jacobs was the NFL’s rushing leader in the 2022 season, finishing with 1,693 rushing yards while scoring 12 touchdowns on the ground.
