Sean Payton Destroys Former Broncos HC for ‘One of the Worst Coaching Jobs’ in NFL History

The Broncos head coach isn’t holding back.
In this story:

Sean Payton has returned to coaching, taking over on the sidelines for the Broncos, and he’s quickly made it known that he isn’t interested in trying to make friends.

While the man Payton replaced, Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, is “out of sight, out of mind” for the Broncos, he isn’t safe from taking a body blow from Payton. During a recent interview with USA Today’s Jarrett Bell, Payton called out everyone involved in the situation with quarterback Russell Wilson, including placing blame on everyone and pointing to the “head coach.”

Payton then said that “everything” he heard about last season, “we’re doing the opposite.”

“That was a message,” Payton said. “They can only beat the [expletive] out of you so much. But everybody’s got a little stink on their hands. It’s not just Russell. It was a [poor] offensive line. It might have been one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL. That’s how bad it was.

Payton doesn’t appear to care much about anything Hackett did while coaching the Broncos, and he’s more than willing to put his feelings—as brutal as they may be—front and center for the world to see.
