Damar Hamlin Makes Falling Interception During Bills Training Camp
Arguably the best image to emerge from any NFL training camp practice field happened at St. John Fisher University on Tuesday.
Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who took part in his first full-contact practice on Monday for the first time since suffering cardiac arrest against the Bengals in January, displayed his ball-hawking skills on Day 2.
The timing on backup quarterback Matt Barkley’s deep crossing route was off target to veteran wideout Andy Isabella and Hamlin—promptly reading it—stepped in and intercepted the pass.
The Bills social media team who tweeted the video aptly nailed the caption: “Love to see it! 👏 #BillsCamp”
Hamlin’s return, which is nothing short of a miracle, is an inspirational story for all football fans. The images being shared from upstate New York have the entire sports world tuning in as the young defensive back attempts to not only be part of Buffalo’s 53-man roster but among the 48 players who are allowed to be active on game day.
Making plays, like the one that went viral on Tuesday, is the first step in that direction.
