Ex-Chiefs DB Arrested With Drugs, AK-47s, AR-15s in Stolen Car, per Police
Former NFL cornerback Bashaud Breeland was arrested in Charlotte earlier this week and is facing several charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, as well as possession of stolen firearms and illegal drugs.
According to a Mecklenburg County Police Department report obtained by WBTV, Breeland was arrested Monday afternoon and booked into Mecklenburg County Jail early Tuesday morning.
The report indicates police seized more than five pounds of marijuana, 62 grams of mushrooms and other drug paraphernalia in addition to two AK-47s and two AR-15s. He was arrested in a stolen Mercedes-Benz SUV, per the report.
WBTV indicates Breeland posted a $30,000 bond hours after being arrested.
The 31-year-old, who is a native of Allendale, S.C., last played in the NFL in 2021 as a member of the Vikings. He played a total of eight seasons in the league, having been drafted by the Commanders in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft out of Clemson.
In addition to his stints in Washington and Minnesota, Breeland played for the Packers and Chiefs, winning a Super Bowl with Kansas City in the 2019 season.
Breeland appeared in a total of 107 NFL games, registering 439 tackles, 16 interceptions and 10 forced fumbles.
