Jonathan Taylor reportedly received permission to seek a trade away from the Colts on Monday, prompting plenty of discussion as to where the 24-year-old may end up, should a trade come to fruition.

While a trade getting done is far from a guarantee, Indianapolis is willing to listen if Taylor is able to find a suitable destination. The running back will be looking to sign a new contract with whatever team trades for him, and that team will reportedly also need to send a “good return” to Indianapolis.

ESPN’s Stephen Holder reported on what that trade return would potentially look like, indicating Indy would be seeking a first-round pick in exchange for Taylor. Holder also reported that multiple picks with value equivalent to that of a first-rounder would be enough to tempt the Colts.

Taylor had been seeking a contract extension from the organization ahead of training camp. He’s entering the final year of his rookie deal and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2024. After failing to make ground on a new deal this offseason, Taylor requested a trade out of Indianapolis.

Across three seasons in the NFL, Taylor has featured in 43 games, registering 3,841 yards, 33 rushing touchdowns, and three receiving touchdowns. He was selected to the All-Pro First Team and the Pro Bowl in 2021.
