Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson exited the field in the final minute of Sunday’s 31-21 loss to the Jaguars after taking a vicious hit to his lower body.

Richardson, who made his NFL regular season debut, was scrambling in pursuit of a touchdown for Indianapolis. However, he was met with a big hit from Jaguars safety Andre Cisco as he neared the goal line.

The 21-year-old stayed down on the field as trainers looked at him. After standing to his feet, Richardson walked off the field slowly was replaced by backup Gardner Minshew.

After the game, Colts head coach Shane Steichen told reporters that Richardson was fine and not injured, per The Athletic's Stephen Holder. Richardson said he took a hit to his left knee but believes icing it will take care of the pain.
