The opening to Monday Night Football, arguably the most famous theme song in all sports, featured a new song prior to the Saints-Panthers game and fans were absolutely loving it.

NFL fans loved the iconic “Are You Ready For Some Football '' for years, watched country music star Chris Stapleton and rapper Snoop Dogg combine to offer a “reimagined” version of Phil Collins’ 1981 hit song “In the Air Tonight”.

In an ESPN press release, the network said the new intro “would elevate the excitement and emotions leading into each game by combining nostalgia with intensity.”

The network stressed how fans would enjoy the elite combination of musical talents.

"The new Monday Night Football anthem is comprised of Chris Stapleton covering Collins’ lyrics, with Snoop Dogg, in his signature style adding football-centric verses, Cindy Blackman Santana, a powerhouse on the drums, rocking the song’s iconic drum break and brings her own style and accents to this classic song."

They weren't wrong.

From the reactions of NFL fans on social media on Monday night, the network’s early convictions are well supported.
