Mics Caught D.J. Moore Seemingly Agreeing That the Bears Aren’t Using Him Right
After quarterback Justin Fields made and retracted some comments seemingly critical of the Bears' coaching staff on Wednesday, footage began circulating on social media of an exchange between wide receiver D.J. Moore. and Buccaneers’ Devin White.
In their conversation, which was overheard by hot mics, White could be heard telling Moore that he’s not being properly utilized by the team. The wide receiver seemed to agree with that sentiment.
“Oh, tell me about it,” said Moore in response.
Moore is in his first year in Chicago, and through two games he’s amassed eight receptions on nine targets for 129 yards. He had six catches for 104 yards in Week 2, after which he could be overheard agreeing with his opponent’s criticism of his usage in the Bears’ offense.
Moore and White are plenty familiar with one another, having been division rivals for four seasons from 2019–22, when the wideout was a member of the Panthers.
While Moore had his best game of the season in Week 2, it appears he thinks he’s not yet being properly utilized in Chicago’s offense, which has gotten off to a stagnant start to the year. Perhaps his comments will lead to more targets from Fields, who vowed to play less robotically in Week 3 against the Chiefs.
