NFL Fans Couldn’t Stop Laughing at the Broncos Looking So Bad on One Play vs. Dolphins

To say the Broncos had a rough day at the office defensively Sunday would be an understatement.

Denver's defense was completely shredded in historic fashion by the Miami Dolphins offense, conceding 70 points in a 50-point blowout loss. That’s the most points surrendered by an NFL team since 1966. And while the Broncos' offense didn’t help matters with turnovers that gave Miami short fields, it was still an ugly defensive performance. Miami tallied a whopping 726 yards from scrimmage and scored touchdowns on eight of its first nine full drives of the game.

Those numbers may tell a story, but a picture is worth a thousand words, right? And one NFL fan’s screengrab perfectly sums up the Broncos’ pathetic defensive performance.

On this run from explosive Dolphins rookie De’Von Achane, more than half the Broncos defense somehow wound up on the ground, with the others chasing behind the first-year running back. It’s a truly hilarious microcosm of Denver’s defensive woes, and fans loved it.

The 0–3 Broncos also gave up 35 points to Sam Howell and the Commanders in Week 2, so obviously this team has lots of work to do. A matchup next week against the lowly Bears could be an effective slump-buster, though.
