Bears’ Equanimeous St. Brown Unintentionally Pokes Fun at Team’s Losing Streak

The Chicago wide receiver served an interesting reminder of how long it’s been since the team’s last win.

Bears wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown spoke with his brother, Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown earlier this week for The 33rd Team podcast on a host of topics, one of which centered around Equanimeous’s in-season partying routine.

And in typical sibling fashion, the brothers couldn’t help but involve themselves in a bit of friendly banter about their rival teams.

“Do you go out during the season?” Amon-Ra asked his brother.

“If we win,” Equanimeous responded.

“Really, how does that work?” Amon-Ra asked.

“Hasn’t worked in a long time,” Equanimeous said with a wry smile.

Equanimeous, of course, was referencing the ongoing Bears’ losing streak. Chicago is winless this season, and dating back to last year have lost 13 games in a row—the longest in franchise history.

The same can’t be said for Amon-Ra’s Lions, who won once again on Thursday night in Green Bay against the Packers. While the Bears can’t seem to put one in the win column, the Lions are heading in the opposite direction, looking like the team to beat in the NFC North after moving to 3–1 with the 34–20 victory.

Hopefully for Equanimeous, the Bears can get a win sooner rather than later so that he can go out for a night on the town.
