Jets’ Sauce Gardner Hilariously Trolled Russell Wilson After Win vs. Broncos
The Jets had a bit of a chip on their shoulder heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Broncos, following some critical offseason comments from Sean Payton. After a 31–21 win at Mile High Stadium in Denver, New York celebrated fittingly.
Star cornerback Sauce Gardner didn’t pull any punches on social media after the victory, hilariously trolling veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, who struggled in the game.
“Jets Country....... LETS RIDE,” wrote Gardner on X, alongside a horse emoji.
Of course, Wilson attempted to popularize the phrase, “Broncos Country, let’s ride,” during his debut season in Denver. Ultimately, the motto didn’t catch on as intended and became something of a running joke among football fans on social media.
Gardner dug the phrase back up after the win on Sunday and added his own spin in order to troll Wilson after a disappointing outing.
Late into the fourth quarter, after the Broncos’ defense came up with a crucial interception, Wilson coughed up a fumble on a strip sack, resulting in New York’s game-winning touchdown.
Clearly, this game was plenty important to the Jets, and players weren’t holding back on social media in the aftermath of the win.
