Micah Parsons Says He Doesn’t Think 49ers Are Better Than Cowboys Despite Blowout

The Cowboys were humbled Sunday night in what was supposed to be a NFC heavyweight bout against the 49ers. Instead, it looked more like an older brother bullying his younger sibling without remorse. But that didn’t deter Dallas linebacker Micah Parsons from hyping up his team.

Despite the lopsided 42–10 loss, the Cowboys star told reporters that he still sees Dallas as a postseason contender and San Francisco’s peer.

“I don’t think they really a higher level than us,” Parsons told reporters after game. “I think we the same caliber playoff team. If not, the same talent same standard as them.”

Parsons added that Dallas simply needs to “fix some things.”

San Francisco seemed able to do whatever it wanted Sunday night, with its offense racking up 421 yards over the vaunted Dallas defense. Quarterback Brock Purdy threw four touchdown passes in just three quarters of play. By the time the 49ers led 42–10 at the start of the fourth quarter, the backups soon began to spill out for both teams.

The 49ers have eliminated the Cowboys from the playoffs in each of the past two years, and now they once again find themselves as the big brother to their NFC rivals.
