Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill sustained an ankle injury during the Week 6 loss against the Ravens, but it doesn’t seem that he’s at risk of losing his job as Tennessee’s starter.

On Monday, Mike Vrabel discussed Tannehill’s ailing ankle and indicated that so long as the veteran is healthy, he’d be the Titans’ starting quarterback, per Jim Wyatt of Titans.com.

With a bye week looming, Tannehill will have some additional time to recover from the ankle injury, and Vrabel clarified that he expects the 35-year-old to start in Week 8.

Tannehill struggled against Baltimore before exiting with the ankle injury. He completed 8-of-16 pass attempts for 76 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. In his stead, Malik Willis completed four passes for 74 yards and rushed three times for 17 yards.

Vrabel said Monday that Tannehill’s injury was similar to the one that he sustained last season. In ‘22, the quarterback missed five games, including the final three games of the campaign, after he underwent season-ending surgery in December.

The Titans’ next game is on Oct. 29 against the Falcons. If Tannehill is unavailable, Willis or rookie Will Levis figure to start the game. If he’s healthy, however, Vrabel made clear that he’s not looking to make any changes under center just yet.

Tannehill is 2–4 as a starter this year, logging just two touchdown passes to six interceptions while completing 62% of his pass attempts.
