NFL Fans Roasted Al Michaels for Brutal Touchdown Call on ‘TNF’
NFL fans were not happy with Al Michaels’s call during the go-ahead touchdown from Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk on Thursday Night Football against the Saints.
Kirk gave Jacksonville a late lead in the fourth quarter after taking a pass from Trevor Lawrence 44 yards for a score. The Jaguars receiver ran along the sideline during the play, though he never appeared close to stepping out of bounds.
Michaels, however, wasn’t so sure about whether the 26-year-old had actually scored.
“Christian Kirk inside the 20 he goes, and Christian Kirk takes the ball all the way to about the one-yard line,” said Michaels.
It was quickly confirmed to be a touchdown for the Jaguars wide receiver, and football fans voiced their confusion over Michaels’s call, while also criticizing his lack of enthusiasm.
Kirk’s touchdown proved to be the winning score, as Jacksonville improved to 5–2 on the year with a 31–24 victory.
