ESPN’s Ryan Clark Roasted 49ers’ DBs With the Most Cold-Blooded Pop Culture Reference

The 49ers‘ secondary struggled to contain Jordan Addison on Monday night, as the Vikings’ rookie wide receiver broke out with the best game of his career to date. The USC alum totaled 123 yards on seven receptions with two touchdowns against San Francisco, forcing the 49ers defense to regroup this week heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Bengals.

ESPN’s NFL Live previewed the Cincinnati-San Francisco matchup Friday, and analyst Ryan Clark had an interesting comparison for the 49ers’ inability to contain Addison.

“On Monday night, Jordan Addison ran away from these defenders like Jada Pinkett Smith running away from marriage responsibilities,” Clark said.

The topical pop culture reference caused host Hannah Storm and fellow analysts Dan Orlovsky and Marcus Spears to react in disbelief on the broadcast.

“Why do you always do this at the end of the show?” Storm asked.

With Will Smith’s and Jada Pinkett Smith’s separation in the news lately, Clark used the opportunity to mesh sports and pop culture. The ESPN analyst is known for his candor, and that was on display again this week.
