The Panthers won their first game of the 2023-24 season during Week 8, taking a 15–13 victory over the Texans on Sunday.

Carolina earned a last-second win with kicker Eddy Pineiro making a 23-yard field goal as time expired to seal the victory. Rookie quarterback Bryce Young led the team to field goal range on a 15-play drive that lasted a little over six minutes.

Punter Johnny Hekker put Piniero on his back to run him around the field as the kicker pumped his fist along with the cheering home crowd at Bank of America Stadium.

This was Young’s first career NFL win. The No. 1 overall pick completed 22-of-31 pass attempts for 235 yards and one touchdown.

The Panthers (1–6) will look to continue a winning streak in Week 9 when facing the 3–5 Colts.
