Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes will play in Sunday’s AFC West showdown against the Broncos, despite being sick with the flu according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Mahomes began feeling sick on Saturday and started taking IVs. On Sunday, Kansas City announced that the two-time Super bowl champion was sick but did not say that he would miss the game that could potentially include several inches of snow.

The two-time MVP enters Sunday’s game with a perfect 12-0 against Denver in his career and 16-0 on the road against AFC West opponents. Mahomes’s undefeated record against the Broncos is tied with Hall of Famer Otto Graham, who holds the most wins by a signal caller against an opposing team without a loss.

Through seven weeks, Mahomes has thrown for 2,017 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. In the Chiefs’ 31-17 victory against the Chargers last week, the 28-year-old posted a four-touchdown performance.

Mahomes will seek to secure his 18th career game with four or more touchdown passes in his first seven seasons. If he does, Mahomes will surpass Hall of Famer Dan Marino, who currently holds the record.
