Matt Ryan Still Can’t Avoid Getting Hit by Cam Jordan Even After Retiring
Matt Ryan enjoyed a fruitful NFL career, but there were some very bad memories when playing the Saints as a quarterback for the Falcons. Specifically, because of defensive end Cameron Jordan. Ryan spent 14 years in Atlanta during which he spent dozens of games trying to avoid the monster edge rusher.
The former quarterback has since retired from taking sacks and is now an analyst for CBS. However, he somehow took yet another hit from Jordan ahead of the Saints-Bears Week 9 game.
Jordan saw Ryan ahead of the game and couldn’t help but relive the good old days, hugging him from behind as if he was unblocked in the backfield. If you watch carefully, you can see Ryan recall those memories for a brief second when his face scrunches in confusion.
Jordan sacked Ryan an absurd 23 times throughout their many battles—the most ever by a player on a single quarterback. After watching the video of their reunion, Ryan said he thought those days were long behind him.
“I thought I was done with that,” Ryan said. “I thought that was over, that part of my life was over.”
