With quarterback Daniel Jones done for the season, the Giants are reportedly making a move to beef up their depth at the position.

New York is signing quarterback Matt Barkley to its active roster from its practice squad, according to a Wednesday morning report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Barkley, 33, has not played in the NFL since appearing in five games for the Bills in 2020. Since then, he has spent time rostered by the TitansPanthersFalcons, Buffalo and the Giants.

Drafted in the fourth round by the Eagles in 2013 out of USC, Barkley has seen game action for Philadelphia, the Bears and the Bills over the years. He has thrown 11 touchdowns against 22 interceptions in his career.

Before the reported addition of Barkley, the only healthy quarterback on New York's roster was rookie Tommy DeVito—a Syracuse and Illinois product with one touchdown against two interceptions in two games this season.

Jones exited the Giants’ 30–6 loss to the Raiders Sunday with a torn ACL after completing four of nine passes for 25 yards.
