Dominique Foxworth laid some headline-worthy praise on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott on Tuesday.

During an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, Foxworth was asked whether Prescott was the best quarterback in the NFC right now. Foxworth decided not to stop at just the NFC and gave the Cowboys QB some lofty praise, saying that Prescott is playing the best of any quarterback in the entire NFL.

“Since that 49ers loss, he’s the best statistically by almost all the advanced metrics,” Foxworth said. “And then if you watch the games, you also notice he’s not getting great protection. He’s balling with the offensive line collapsing. He’s not getting a running game… Dak is making everything much easier for everyone around him, including the coaching staff.”

That’s an eye-popping take, given that we’re only a few weeks removed from Prescott receiving immense criticism after his performance against the 49ers. But Prescott has put up impressive numbers since, with 12 touchdowns compared to just one interception in those four games and topping 300 yards passing in three of those four games.

Still, most NFL fans were unconvinced and roasted Foxworth for the take. Some even suggested that Prescott isn’t even ahead of Texans rookie CJ Stroud for best QB in the state.
