Jimmy Johnson to Finally Be Enshrined In Cowboys Ring of Honor
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced Sunday that former coach Jimmy Johnson will finally be enshrined in the team’s Ring of Honor on Dec. 30. Johnson coached Dallas to two Super Bowl championships in 1993 and ’94 but ultimately left the franchise after his relationship with Jones soured.
But finally, Johnson will get to take his place among the greatest names in Cowboys history. Johnson will be the 24th member of the team’s Ring of Honor and the ceremony will be held at halftime of the team’s game against the Lions in Week 17.
Jones originally declared Johnson would enter the Ring of Honor back in August 2021, but there was no update since. Now that there’s finally a date, it appears the hatchet can finally be buried between the two.
Despite being excluded from the illusive club, Johnson was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2020 and now he’ll receive the last honor he has been waiting for.
