Jordan Love on Packers' Thanksgiving Day Win Over Lions: 'We Had Their Number'
Jordan Love and the Packers made a statement on Thanksgiving Day, delivering a big win over the rival Lions during the holiday’s early slate, 29-22.
Love has been locked in of late for Green Bay, a trend that continued on Thursday as he threw for three touchdowns, tying his season-high, and surpassed 250 passing yards for the third consecutive week.
Speaking to reporters after the win, the 25-year-old addressed the Packers’ confident mentality leading into their matchup against Detroit.
“We had their number,” said Love, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. “We’ve been waiting for this game for a while.”
Despite being underdogs for Thursday’s game, there wasn't any doubt within Green Bay’s locker room that they could pull off the upset on the road. The Lions got the upper hand in their previous matchup back in Week 4, but Love and company were able to exact their revenge on Thanksgiving.
The Packers improved to 5-6 following the win on Thursday, having now won three of their last four games. During that stretch, Love has thrown for eight touchdowns and just two interceptions.
The young quarterback has responded well after some midseason struggles, and he’ll look to stay hot in Week 12 when the Packers take on the Chiefs with the chance to get back to .500 on the year.
