Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas didn’t let an injury stop him from inserting himself into the limelight Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately for him and the rest of his team, it was for the wrong reasons.

During his team’s game against the Falcons, quarterback Derek Carr threw a pick-six and one user on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, appeared to react to the play saying, “He read that route perfectly omg.” Seeing this, Thomas replied, “lol did he.” The implication being that Carr threw a bad pass or simply made a mistake on the play.

It didn’t take long for fans to notice Thomas’s not-so-subtle shot, and the post was deleted just 20 minutes later. That didn’t erase the hundreds of screenshots that were already taken, though.

Thomas suffered a knee injury on Nov. 12 against the Vikings and was placed on the injured reserve list this past week. He’ll likely face some tough questions the next time he sees his coach and quarterback.
