Ryan Poles Gave Matt Eberflus Seemingly Obvious Advice And Bears Fans Can't Believe It
During an ESPN Radio interview before the Bears-Vikings Monday Night Football game, Chicago general manager Ryan Poles revealed a piece of information that was very telling–and fans couldn’t believe it.
Poles said that he has “had conversations” with Bears head coach Matt Eberflus “about having players who can impact the game on the field during critical moments,” per Daniel Greenberg on X, formerly known as Twitter. Chicago fans took this about as well as you would expect.
Bears fans couldn't believe that Poles had to even have such a conversation with Eberflus, the head coach of an NFL team.
Poles may have thought he was providing an interesting look into the working relationship between him and Eberflus. Instead, he provided even more reasons why Bears fans shouldn’t trust the second-year head coach, who is 6–22 entering play against the Vikings on Monday night.
If Poles truly did have this conversation with Eberflus, it’s pretty alarming–to say the least–that he had to remind the Bears head coach to follow one of the cardinal rules of being a football coach: get your best players involved.
Needless to say, Chicago fans aren't very optimistic about Eberflus's job security after hearing this.
Hopefully, Chicago can pull off a win on Monday night against their division rivals so their fans can forget about the contents of this interview.
