Bills’ Von Miller Faces Arrest Warrant in Domestic Violence Case, per Report
An arrest warrant has been issued for Bills linebacker Von Miller in regard to a domestic violence case, according to Dallas news outlet WFAA.
Miller’s longtime girlfriend, who is pregnant, says the Buffalo star assaulted her at their home in Dallas on Wednesday morning, according to the report. The 34-year-old Miller is facing a third-degree felony charge of assaulting a pregnant person.
Miller’s attorney reportedly has been contacted about the case, and a warrant has been issued for Miller’s arrest.
Miller later turned himself in Thursday and was booked in the DeSoto Tri-City Jail, where he later posted bond and was released, according to ESPN.
The Bills issued a brief statement Thursday after the news broke:
In an affidavit obtained by The Dallas Morning News, details of the incident have come to light. Miller and his girlfriend have been romantically involved for seven years; his girlfriend is six weeks pregnant. In the incident in question, Miller got angry at his girlfriend and told her to “get out” of the apartment. As the woman collected her belongings and prepared to leave, Miller started getting physical with her, according to the affidavit.
Miller, according to the affidavit, applied pressure on the woman’s neck, grabbed her by the hair, and threw her laptop on the ground and stomped on it. The woman then started to record the incident on a phone. When she told Miller she was calling the police, Miller left the apartment.
Police arrived at the apartment shortly afterward and took note of the woman’s injuries, which included “minor abrasions” on her hand and bruising on her abdomen, left biceps and neck that was “consistent with applied pressure.”
The woman showed the police the phone recording as well as evidence of her pregnancy.
