The Cowboys edged the Seahawks 41–35 in Dallas on Thursday night, thanks to a late touchdown pass from Dak Prescott. But it wasn’t exactly a banner night for the Cowboys’ defense (or the officiating).

The Seahawks amassed 406 total yards and went 9-for-14 on third down en route to scoring 35 points. However, Dallas got a needed late-game stop after Prescott’s touchdown pass to tight end Jake Ferguson, partly inspired by a fiery sideline challenge issued by the quarterback to the Cowboys’ defense.

“Turn me the f— up!” Prescott implored his defensive teammates, according to linebacker Micah Parsons. The Dallas linebacker said Prescott yelled at the team’s defense before the unit took the field with a 38–35 lead.

“I’m like, ‘Damn! That s— made me blush a little bit. That’s my quarterback right there!’” Parsons told reporters as he described the exchange. “That’s always exciting, the energy he brings, that fire. He’s at a different pace. This is the type of quarterback that’s going to win us a Super Bowl.”

Following the challenge from Prescott, Dallas’s defense forced two consecutive turnovers on downs against a Seahawks offense that was humming all night. As the game developed, it felt like the defense that got off the field first would win. Sure enough, the Cowboys made stops twice late in a game that featured no punts for only the fifth time in NFL history.

The Cowboys improved to 9–3 on the season, and will host the Eagles for Sunday Night Football on Dec. 10. The Seahawks dropped to 6–6, and head to San Francisco for Week 14.
