Al Michaels Cheekily Informed ‘TNF’ Viewers That the Over Hit in Steelers-Patriots Game

The game’s over-under total was set at 30.5 points.

One of the biggest storylines heading into Thursday night’s matchup between the Steelers and Patriots was the extremely low over-under total odds.

The game was set at 30.5 points, which is one of the lowest over-unders in recent NFL history. The two teams have been scoring low all season, so the total seemed to be set fairly. At least, NFL fans thought so.

The Thursday Night Football matchup took a surprising turn early on as the Patriots came out and scored three touchdowns, along with the Steelers scoring one touchdown and a field goal in the first half. This meant the total was 31 points at halftime.

Amazon Prime announcer Al Michaels was quick to note to fans watching that the game that the over hit.

“If you like the over, they've also answered the call,” Michaels said as Steelers kicker Chris Boswell scored the extra point to put the total at 31.

Week after week, Michaels seems to go viral for comments he makes during the Thursday night games. The announcer was most likely happy that this matchup saw lots of scoring early on.
