The Baltimore Ravens have a little wiggle room in the AFC playoff race. Not a lot, but a little.

The team, after all, is 11–3 as the calendar nears Christmas. The Ravens are a game up on the Miami Dolphins in the race for the conference’s one-seed, and two up on the Cleveland Browns in the AFC North.

Thus, Baltimore can afford a little experimentation. The Ravens dabbled in just that Friday afternoon, with quarterback Lamar Jackson showing off strange new arm angles in the portion of practice open to reporters.

In video captured by Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Banner, Jackson practiced a short-arm throw as well as a pair of sidearm throws better suited for baseball.

Baltimore fans had mixed feelings about the sequence.

Some were excited about the potential wrinkle.

Other fans questioned the wisdom of showing it off to reporters.

A few noted that the Ravens might be unwise to try anything too left-of-center given they are about to face the San Francisco 49ers.

Still, fans almost universally viewed the throws as a testament to Jackson's unique skill set.
