Seahawks Center Who Chirped A.J. Brown Wore Perfect Jersey to Commemorate Scuffle
Things are not always as they seem on a chaotic NFL sideline.
During the Philadelphia Eagles’ 20–17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, cameras appeared to capture receiver A.J. Brown exchanging words with someone on the Seahawks’ sideline.
In the wake of Philadelphia chief security officer Dom DiSandro's much-discussed fracas with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw, many (including official NFL channels) assumed Brown was talking with a Seattle staffer.
However, the "staffer" was actually Seahawks center Joey Hunt—a practice squad frequent flier who hasn't seen game action since 2020 with the Indianapolis Colts.
On Thursday evening, Hunt poked fun at the case of mistaken identity by wearing a custom "STAFFER" jersey to practice, which was provided to him by the team’s equipment team and posted to social media.
"Don't you forget about me," the Seahawks tweeted alongside a picture of Hunt mimicking the iconic closing shot of the 1985 John Hughes film The Breakfast Club.
Hunt has actually played in 34 games for Seattle over his career, spread over the 2016, 2018 and 2019 seasons.
