Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos had their playoff hopes all but dashed Sunday night when they lost at home in the final seconds to the New England Patriots, 26–23.

The Broncos landed Wilson in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks before the 2022 season in hopes that he would make them Super Bowl contenders. Instead, he’s now had two rough seasons in Denver, and it appears that once again he’s not even going to lead them to the postseason.

Wilson’s future in Denver could come to a close this offseason when the team will have to make a decision on his hefty contract. The QB dodged questions about that after Sunday night’s loss.

One particular play in the first half against the Patriots had some fans speculating about Wilson’s future with the team, as it looked as if three of his teammates ignored him after he took a really bad sack.
