Christmas came a day early for Los Angeles Rams rookie Puka Nacua when team staffers retrieved a long-lost memento of his in the spirit of the holidays.

Nacua’s first NFL season started off with a bang this fall as he tallied 501 receiving yards through his first four games. And he finally was able to haul in his first-ever touchdown catch in that fourth game against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 1. The catch was a game-winner in overtime, and at the time, Nacua wasn’t too sentimental. The rookie let the adrenaline get to him, and he chucked the ball into the stands at Lucas Oil Stadium never to be seen again—or so he probably thought.

Somehow, the Rams were able to track down the ball and present it to Nacua as a Christmas present, posting the video on Christmas Eve. He had to rip through a couple of boxes to get there, but the rookie didn’t seem to mind.

“Thank you admin,” Nacua said. “It was worth all the boxes.”
