Aaron Donald Explains What Keeps Him Motivated 10 Years Into Dominant Career
Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald snatched his 10th consecutive Pro Bowl spot on Wednesday night.
Donald has seemingly accomplished it all: a Super Bowl ring, three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards and the 10 Pro Bowl selections. So, what continues to motivate the 32-year-old this far into his career, retired linebacker Ray Lewis asked Donald during an NFL Network interview.
Donald had one specific answer.
“It’s to go out there and win,” Donald said. “Obviously I had the opportunity to accomplish winning the Super Bowl. There’s no other feeling like that, so obviously that’s the addiction. You want to feel that again. You want to accomplish that again. ... After accomplishing it, you thought you’d be satisfied winning one, but you win one, and it’s not enough. To try to experience that again, to relive that all again, that’s all I want to do.”
Donald helped lead the team to a Super Bowl LVI victory, and it sounds like he’s ready to repeat that in Super Bowl LVIII.
The Rams currently hold the No. 6 NFC seed in this year’s playoffs.
