Ravens to Sign Dalvin Cook After RB Cleared Waivers

The four-time Pro Bowler will look to carve out a role on a red-hot offense led by MVP candidate Lamar Jackson.

The top-seeded Baltimore Ravens are reportedly bolstering its depth chart ahead of the postseason with the signing of Dalvin Cook just hours after the ex-Jets running back cleared waivers.

Released by the Jets on Tuesday, Cook, a four-time Pro Bowler with the Vikings, will  now join Baltimore for the 2023 playoffs, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday, via Cook’s agency, LAA Sports & Entertainment,

The move signals the start of a new chapter for Cook following the 28-year-old’s unceremonious exit from New York. The seven-year pro saw limited playing time after signing as a free agent in August, as his role diminished behind second-year standout Breece Hall.

Despite appearing in 15 games, Cook logged just 214 rushing yards and 78 receiving yards on 15 receptions, all career-lows, for a floundering Jets (6–10) team that fell out of playoff contention in Week 15.

With Baltimore looking poised for a Super Bowl run, Cook will now look to carve out a role and bring some semblance of his once revered playmaking ability to a red-hot, Lamar Jackson-led offense clicking on all cylinders.
