Buffalo Weather Update: Stadium Snow Shovelers Held Back As Storm Continues to Roll

The wild-card game vs. Pittsburgh was moved to Monday evening.

The Buffalo Bills vs. Pittsburgh Steelers wild-card game was originally set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, but was moved to 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday due to a snowstorm in New York.

The Bills hired snow shovelers to help at Highmark Stadium before the game was moved, and now the team is asking the shovelers to wait to help out at the stadium until the area’s travel ban, which was put in place by governor Kathy Hochul, is lifted. Fans will not be allowed to drive to the stadium until the ban is over.

Buffalo will release more information about when the shovelers should expect to arrive at the stadium once the travel ban is lifted.

The fans that come to Highmark to help out with snow removal will earn $20 an hour. The fans must be at least 18 years old, and they were asked to bring their own shovels. They will receive breaks and complimentary food for helping out.

The Buffalo area is expected to have 1-2 feet of snow, and it may even get up to three feet with lake effect snow. Video of the stadium on Saturday night showed just how intense the weather conditions were.
