Cowboys’ Legend Jimmy Johnson Attempted to Rally Team With Rousing Speech During Fox Halftime Show

Jimmy Johnson tried to fire up the Cowboys during Fox’s halftime show.

Former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson was not pleased with the team’s lackluster first-half performance against the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round on Sunday evening.

During the Fox halftime show, Johnson attempted to fire up the struggling Cowboys and inspire them to turn things around by delivering an impassioned speech directed at the team.

“Every single one of you. You know how hard we’ve worked. I don’t need to have people pointing the fingers... You get your rear end in there and you play the way you know how to play. We can win the game. We’re gonna open it up, go fast tempo. Defense, get after Jordan Love. You can’t give him that much time. You do what you’re supposed to do and we’ll win this game!” said Johnson.

Johnson didn’t hold back as he attempted to light a fire under Dallas, who entered halftime trailing 27–7 against Love and the Packers.

The team’s performance was nothing short of disastrous, with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb appearing to be totally out of synch throughout the game’s first 30 minutes. Prescott threw two interceptions, including a pick-six, and had just two successful connections with Lamb.

Johnson coached the Cowboys to two Super Bowl wins in 1992 and ‘93, and with their season on the line on Sunday, he tried to get a message across to the team in order to inspire some belief within the squad.
