There are only eight starting quarterbacks remaining in the NFL playoffs.

In the AFC, it’s your typical heroes under center in Patrick MahomesJosh Allen and Lamar Jackson, a trio that’s combined for 11 Pro Bowl appearances and three MVP awards (and likely four if Jackson win this year). Houston Texans rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, the other AFC signal-caller still in the mix, certainly looks like he’ll be mentioned among those stars for years to come.

In the NFC, however, it’s a different story.

Brock Purdy, the man once known as Mr. Irrelevant, leads the charge for the San Francisco 49ers. Jordan Love, written off as the Green Bay Packers’ long-term franchise quarterback earlier this season, is now thriving and receiving more and more Aaron Rodgers comparisons every weekend. Once cast aside by the Cleveland BrownsBaker Mayfield is captaining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ ship. And Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has a better resume than Purdy, Love and Mayfield, but even he is far from NFL superstar status.

The stark difference in the quality of AFC and NFC quarterbacks remaining in the postseason bracket sparked a bunch reactions from NFL fans:
