Nick Sirianni could be on the hot seat after the Philadelphia Eagles’ season ended Monday night with a hapless 32–9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 42-year-old head coach was asked about his job status after his third season at the helm ended in disappointment at Raymond James Stadium.

“I’m not thinking about that,” Sirianni told reporters after the game. “I’m thinking about the guys. Again, there’s a lot of guys in that locker room, all the guys in that locker room, every single one of them that put their heart and soul into this. I’m not worried about me.”

Sirianni, hired ahead of the 2021 NFL season, went 9–8 and was bounced in the wild-card round in his first campaign as head coach. He led the Eagles to a 14–3 record in ’22 before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.

In 2023, the Eagles started 10–1 but lost five of their last six regular-season games and fell on the road to Tampa Bay on Monday.

Sirianni plans to meet with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie in the near future but hadn’t scheduled anything as of Monday night.

“Again, like I said, I’m not there yet,” Sirianni said. “I don’t know exactly quite yet, wasn’t expecting it to end tonight. It did. I’ll put together a schedule here on the plane ride home and then tomorrow.”

There are seven NFL teams currently looking for a new head coach. However, Sirianni and Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy also could find themselves looking for new gigs after their respective teams were blown out on wild-card weekend.
